Summary
Wren moves back to Dallas and fills her days with lists to keep her occupied. She rearranges the furniture that has memories of Lewis. She is living life without Lewis even though she never thought she could do that. She finally finishes reading his last manuscript and feels like she has lost him again. An ice storm pushes back Wren’s return to work. She goes outside and sees birds. They all leave, and she feels she is designed to have everyone leave her. She does not know who she is without Lewis.
In January Wren learns that she is pregnant with a child who will always be at high risk for mutations. She texts the Tiny Pregnant Woman, and when she does not get a response, she googles the woman and learns that the woman, Nora Clifton, died at 33 due to complications...
