Summary
Wren is quite popular in college because she gives off an aura of being hard to get. She stays in her sorority house over the summer and begins a relationship with Rachel who teaches her theology class. Rachel is not bothered by the fact that her field of study concerns the unknowable. Wren does not talk about her mother who does not recognize her and lives in a den of insects, mold, and other critters. Wren starts feeling called to leave Rachel, whom she sees as being balanced, and she starts to yearn for the beginning of summer when she does not have to hide parts of her story.
Lewis spends his time designing a treehouse, blocking Our Town, and writing his play. He begins to eat a lot of seafood. The Tiny Pregnant Woman tells Wren that she is pregnant with...
