Lindsay (Narrator)

Lindsay is the name on the passport of the narrator, who escaped from a maximum security prison in Australia, where he was serving twenty years for armed robbery. He has used many names, and his Indian guide gives him the name of Lin or Linbaba. Lindsay is thirty years old at the time of his arrival in Bombay. He is a writer and has been married. When they divorced, he lost custody of his daughter and plunged into a world of crime and drugs. He escapes from prison, and after two years of hiding, arrives in Bombay.
