Chapters 33-35 Summary

They rode by horse into Afghanistan. The group rode over the mountains. They traveled at night in blackout conditions so they wouldn't be seen from the air. The group is led by Habib, a local guide. Wherever they met any local clans, they said they were traveling with American protection, which was Lindsay's role. They'd examine his American passport and welcome Khader's group. The locals would them help supply the group, thinking they were sent by the Americans.

The group arrives in a village where a wedding is soon to take place. Khader explains the Afghani customs to Lindsay. When crossing the Shahbab Pass, they are attacked and Lindsay's horse is injured. Habib puts the horse out of her misery. Lindsay helps administer first aid to the injured with Khaled's assistance. As soon as they finish, the group began to move...
