Chapters 17-18 Summary
Lindsay is sitting on the veranda at the house of Abdul Khadar, waiting to see him. He is talking with Abdul Ghani who is talking about loving Khadar. Lindsay has had Tariq with him for three months now. He would still have the boy if Khadar hadn't sent for him.
Walking back to his home, he stops to administer first aid at the site of an accident. An unruly mob forms as he remembers from his first few days in Bombay with Prabu. He escaped in a car with two Nigerians, who introduce themselves as Hassaan Obikwa and Raheem. Hassaan says he owes Lindsay his life and that he will see that the people involved in the accident are compensated. When Lindsay gets out of the car, Hassaan tells him where he can find him if he needs anything.
