Summary

In Chapter 17, Sierra awakens. People see that she is hurt. They have called the police. Some people want to help. Others think that Sierra is just another loser from the club and tell her to go home. Then Sierra sees three golden shrouds. It tells the shadow that it has failed, and the shadow creature runs away. Just as Sierra is about to leave, her brother, Juan, comes on his bike. She finds out that their grandfather told him about the shadowshapers and the spirits told him she needed help. She wants to know why her grandfather had not told her about the shadowhapers. Juan’s answer is that her grandfather probably thought she would not understand.
