Chapter 27, 28 Summary

In chapter 27, when David goes to his hotel to sleep, Lucas hurries in to visit Lily while her husband is gone so they will have privacy. He thinks of Larry and is glad he is not to be going to Lily's funeral, too. Lucas also remembers the question he had for Anderson about who pays for the maintenance for Shadow Love's mom's grave. He calls Anderson to get him to find out who does the cemetery's billing and tells him to ask them to meet him immediately. The billing women protests since Lucas has no warrant, but he threatens her with dire consequences, so she checks the computer records and finds that the bill is sent to Barbara Gow and gives him Gow's address.

Clay is going to Drake's house on his own, which upsets his security man. Drake met Clay in Washington...
