Chapter 20, Plans Summary
Han Tzu emails Alai and Virlomi. He is aware of troop movements. Virlomi 's return email says she has not forgotten what China did to India. If he wants to avert a war, he will have to swear allegiance to "Mother India" and "Caliph Alai". Unknown to Virlomi, Alai also answers the email telling Han Tzu not to do anything impulsive because things won't go as they appear to be going.
Rackham meets with Peter Wiggin with concerns over the consequences to Martel's latest essay. Peter has no control over how others respond. All he can do is use the tools he has to keep pressing—just as Graff told him to do. When Rackham asks if Peter is ready for a war between India and China, Peter puts the ball back in Rackham's court. Those responsible are the geniuses...
