Chapter 14, Virlomi's Visitors Summary
Han Tzu has hopes of helping Suri track down his parents and other family members. In India, Virlomi builds a mud hut outside the gates of Hyderabad, where Indians line up by the hundreds to seek an audience with her. Those waiting who expect to see her, have to be barefoot and dressed in Indian garb. Tikal Chapekar, the former prime minister of India, returns to India, and asks who Virlomi is, learning that Virlomi is the soul of India and that the Hindus no longer hold offices—the Caliph held elections but no one ran and no one voted. Virlomi told them not to. Chapeker expects to see Alai when he is ushered in to see the caliph, but instead, Ghaffar Wahabi greets him. Chapekar decides to wait in line to see this "soul of India."
