Chapter 3, Coup Summary

Bean sends an email to the man responsible for his genetic makeup—Volescu, wanting his babies back. Petra, accompanies the Hemegon, Peter Wiggins, to visit Caliph Alai the leader of the Muslim armies. Petra nd Alai know each other from Battle School. Peter learns from Petra that she is angry for allowing Bean to risk Bean's life in killing Achilles, from which Peter profits. Petra warns him just show up and see Alai. Petr and Peter continue to argue, and Petra walks away. The next morning Petra and Peter meet with Alai.

Peter wants Petra to be his ally after Bean dies. Peter first takes the offensive with Alai but when Peter realizes someone else is listening, he praises Alai and the work Alai has done. Peter says is here because he seeks peace for the children of God. Alai...
