Jim participates in the weddings of his two good friends Bill Cathers and Ed McCully before he goes west to Portland. He arrives with only $1.20 in his pocket and wastes no time picking up handyman jobs. A month later, he takes a much-needed vacation with his family at Ocean Park, Washington.
