Importance: When Matt goes to visit Grandpa, he explains to Grandpa the situation in which Aman and his family have found themselves. Asylum seekers to England from Afghanistan, Aman and his family are being kept at Yarl’s Wood until they can be sent back to Afghanistan. Matt is very unhappy with this, begging the British government to let them stay, and trying his best to visit Aman.

Importance: When Grandpa and Matt head to Yarl’s Wood so that Grandpa may visit Aman and his family, Grandpa is surprised to see the place surrounded by barbed wire. This angers Grandpa to think that children are being kept behind barbed wire. Grandpa, who has not been looking forward to the visit, is now determined to carry out the visit.
