Chapters 4-8 Summary

In Chapter 4, the guardian test begins. Rose and Eddie work together because Lissa and Christian have most of their classes together. In the afternoon, Rose witnesses a fight between several guardian students and guardian instructors. One of the boys makes a mistake and fails the test. Rose is anxious to be tested. Later, Rose and Christian have a heart-to-heart talk during his home class and clear the air. Afterward, Rose is confronted by a guardian instructor dressed as a Strigoi, but she freezes when she sees Mason watching.

In Chapter 5, Rose is brought before a panel of guardian instructors to explain her actions. Rose is accused of purposely leaving Christian unprotected in order to protest her assignment to him rather than Lissa.
