Chapters 1-3 Summary

Shadow Kiss is the third book in the Vampire Academy Series. Rose Hathaway is a dhampir, a person who is half human and half Moroi vampire. After a car accident, Rose was brought back to life by her friend, Lissa, something that has caused a mental bond between the two girls that is referred to as being shadow kissed. Rose rescued Lissa from Victor Dashkov, a royal Moroi who wanted to use her rare and unique gifts of spirit to prolong his own life. During this rescue, Rose was forced to act upon romantic feelings for her guardian instructor, Dimitri, by a charm Victor placed on her. Dimitri has since admitted to loving Rose, but expressed concern that they cannot indulge their feelings because they are both slated to be Lissa's guardians after her graduation from the academy.
