Part 1: Chapter 25-35 Summary

Severian, Dorcas, and Agia are traveling back from gathering the avern and Agia tells them where to find a place to eat. When they get to the Inn, the man has them pay up front for their meal for the evening so that when Severian is killed the meal will be covered. They get a room and Dorcas and Agia wash up and ready themselves for the evening. A bottle of wine is brought in and Agia takes off her dress and tries to make love to Severian but is interrupted by Dorcas. Dorcas is embarrassed and leaves the room and Severian finds a note. Agia begins to cry and scream begging him not to read it. He holds her off him and opens the letter to find a warning stating that the woman can't be trusted and the...
