Summary

In Chapter 40, Darren emails Kevin demanding to know why he is talking to the cops. Kevin does not respond.

In Chapter 41, Darren confronts Kevin at school, angrily asking what is going on with the investigation. Kevin cowers and tells Darren someone gave the list to the NFPD claiming Mr. Tracy has been showing gay porn to young kids (146). Everyone thinks Principal Newlove submitted the list. Kevin tells Darren that the detectives are nice to you as long as you cooperate. Ross and Mikey interrupt the dialogue. Darren does not go to lunch with them, wishing he could disappear altogether.

In Chapter 42, Darren's mom tells him a detective has requested his presence at the police station. He tells his mother nothing is going on, all the while replaying the afternoon in Mr. Tracy's car in his mind. Though he does not want his father...
