Section 4: Chapters 8 & 9 Summary
In Chapter 8, Lady Corongi's sneer cows Seraphina from her intent to discuss Glisselda's draconian education. Lady Corongi asks why Seraphina fills her student's head with nonsense about dragons. Ignoring Seraphina's claim that she has some insight due to her dragon tutor, the governess insists that she is trying to give Princess Glisselda confidence in her people and their victory over dragons. Furthermore, she hopes that Goredd will finish the conflict how they should have, instead of as cowards, once Glisselda is queen. While tending her garden, Seraphina reaches out to Miss Fusspots and is astonished to notice the woman has scales, meaning that she is also a half dragon. Miss Fusspots appears at Seraphina's door, furious that she was spied on until Seraphina reveals her own scales. After Seraphina promises not to spy on her again, the older woman introduces herself...
