Section 3: Chapters 5-7 Summary
In Chapter 5, Seraphina heads to meet Orma, but on her way, she runs into a begging quigutl who convinces her to trade coins for a lizard figurine. As the small dragon rushes away when humans approach, Seraphina is knocked unconscious by a vision. She revives as she is being tended by an older woman and two brothers. One of the men, Thomas, escorts Seraphina to the palace, but on the way, he notes that he saw a quig idol in her purse and chides her for being a quig-lover. As Seraphina tends her garden in Chapter 6, she notices colorful snow which transports her into one of her mother's memories when she catches it on her tongue. She stores the snow in a box, but when she tastes one memory of her parents singing together, the memory does not cause...
