Summary
In Chapter 7, Judy reflects on the difficult relationship she had with her mother. She always felt that her mother was slightly disappointed in her and the direction she had taken her life, as well as confused by her.
In Chapter 8, Judy follows Sari, a creative life coach on social media, and tries to motivate herself. She struggles to write and spends the afternoon with her friend Glenn out at lunch. Glenn is dying of cancer and undergoing chemotherapy. The two friends cry together before moving onto lighter topics of conversation. Judy mentions a new program called People Puppets at Teddy’s school. Judy contemplates the idea of life and death, and Glenn’s remark that she would find it impossible to be a mother and still know that she is dying.
