Jacob Soboroff

Separated is a journalistic and personal journey for Soboroff. As a correspondent for NBC News and MSNBC, Soboroff often covered stories concerning the U.S.-Mexico border. He readily admits to pursuing the wrong border story several times. For example, he creates relevant footage regarding the separation of mixed-families—families where, for example, the child was born in the United States and is a citizen, and the parent is deported. He also reported on Dreamers, the children brought to the United States as children and protected under the Obama Administrations’ DACA program granting deferrals. Soboroff also describes his in-depth research in El Paso pursuing a story about a Border Patrol agent’s death.
