Summary

In Chapter 13, Joseph woke up in the hospital. Billy had broken his jaw. This experience created a rift between Joseph and Bobby because Joseph was given credit for rescuing Allie.

In Chapter 14, when Joseph pulled up at The Blue Tornado, he could tell that it had been closed for some time.

Later, Joseph listened to Suzy’s radio show. He describes that she had started the show hoping to find news about her father, an American soldier who had fallen in love with her mother, a Vietnamese model. Ironically, Suzy never learned what had happened to her father. His dog tags, watch, and the Bible her mother gave him were never found.
