Book 1: Dr. David Strauss, Part Four: Chapters 49 - 52 Summary
The German and American police surround the restaurant. David is with Harry, Harris Tanana and Raymond Cosgrove, sitting in a sedan outside, and his heartbeat is so loud that he is sure they can hear it. Very professional now, Harry's people are crouched in shooting positions, surrounding Kleine-Garten. Harry leads David up to the front door. Harry pushes open the door and as they walk in, David's eyes are scanning wildly for any sign of Alix. He hears shouts of "This is the Police", and "Watch the rear door", and then he spots her. She screams at him to get down, making herself a target. The little restaurant is a shooting gallery, and officers are falling. Sirens can be heard approaching, and David follows Harry out the rear exit...
