Point of View
The point of view of the novel is third person. The narrator is omniscient and seems reliable as he reports on the thoughts and emotions of all the characters throughout the novel. The point of view is important as the stories of three different couples are told throughout the course of the book. The narration rotates from character to character as the stories are told. It would be difficult to tell the story from any viewpoint other than that of an omniscient narrator.
The book is divided about evenly between dialogue and exposition with the majority of the exposition describing the steamy sex scenes between the characters. These descriptions, of course, make up the “romance” portion of the book. The exposition comes as characters talk about what is happening to them and other characters.
