Summary
In Chapter Thirty-nine, the elevator finally begins to move, freeing Rafe and Ari. As they walk back to the car, Ari notes this was their best date. Rafe apologizes for treating her so badly in the past and promises never to do so again. Ari wonders if he wants to marry or if he just wants her as a permanent mistress, but decides to accept his promise nonetheless.
