Summary
In Chapter Twenty-one, Ari leaves the restaurant believing that she has finally gotten the upper hand on Rafe. On the street, however, he walks up behind her, then pulls her into a waiting limo. She tries to resist him, but he brings up the subject of the journal. She wants to read more of the journal but since he tells her that he can’t promise he will keep his hands off her a second time alone in his house, Ari decides to try to meet him at a public library. Surprisingly, he agrees. Before she gets out of the car, however, Rafe kisses her making her body deny her desire for him. He asks her to invite him into her house, giving her enough time to collect herself. Ari refuses. Once she is alone, she realizes how badly she has done...
