Summary

In Chapter Eighteen, Ari is on a date with a podiatrist who infuriates her by talking about his ex-wife, then indicating that Ari’s teaching job is “cute.” He gets a page from the hospital calling him for an emergency and he leaves. He tells Ari he’s looking forward to another date, but leaves her with the bill. As soon as the doctor leaves, Rafe appears. Apparently, he was the one who arranged for the doctor to get the text. He flirts with Ari, telling her that he wants her as his wife, not his mistress. Ari turns his advances down cold and leaves him with the bill for the wine.

In Chapter Nineteen, Lia finally gives into her desire for Shane.
