Chapter 18 - Startling Revelations Summary

In this final chapter, Jimmy and Dawn find Randolph sitting the Grandmother Cutler's office. Randolph admits that he knew what his mother did to Dawn and suggests that they get in touch with her attorney to see if he knows anything. After Randolph talks to the attorney, Dawn asks to be allowed to talk to him. When the lawyer learns who Dawn is, he first tells her that he needs to be present at the reading of the wills. When she asks about her baby, the lawyer is surprised to learn that Dawn did not agree to the adoption.

Later that evening at dinner, Jimmy is embarrassed by Laura Sue's flirtatious attitude. Dawn wonders if her mother has no shame. Laura Sue tells Dawn that she will arrange for Grandmother Cutler's room to be cleaned out so...
