Chapter 7 - Private Lessons Summary

When Dawn's mother calls her to congratulate her on her success at school Dawn asks again about her father but her mother avoids the question. In her first lesson with Michael he teaches her about the proper way to breathe when she sings by wrapping his arms around her from behind. At the conclusion of the lesson, he sings one of his famous love songs and invites Dawn to join him. He kisses her at the end of the song. He tells her it is only because he felt like he was performing the song on stage. Dawn feels as if he really loves her. He asks her to come to his apartment that evening but warns her not to tell anyone.

When Dawn gets home, Trisha knows that something has happened so Dawn concocts a story...
