Summary
In Chapter 3, "Maribel," first person narrator, Maribel recalls the last time she was in London. She had been working as a runner on "a documentary about textile mills in the nineteenth century" (82). On set, she met Schuyler. The two began an affair.
Maribel knew Schuyler was married, confident she would not get too attached. In a month, the relationship would end, but it still would have been worth it. However, near the relationship’s end, Maribel felt sad. She would end up "with no one to help" her through life's troubles (87).
Schuyler left. They talked on and off. Then the director, Tara, unexpectedly returned the shoot to London. Maribel and Schuyler were thrilled. They rekindled their relationship.
