June 1st Summary
Jessica writes to Hope. She mentions to Hope how when they were freshmen that they always thought the seniors were so cool and how everything seemed to revolve around them. Now that they are seniors, Jessica doesn't understand the stigma. She says it could be because she is more of a bystander in the senior activities than she is a participant, including deciding not to attend prom. Jessica has managed to attend four years of high school without attending any of the formal events. Jessica also says that there are 20 days left of school. With everything that has happened in the last 20 days—Marin being born, Jessica and her father having their first conversation and Gladdie dying—she realizes that a lot can happen in just 20 days.
