Jessica writes to Hope, congratulating her on getting into the design school in Rhode Island she applied to attend. She tells Hope that she's dreading the letter from Williams because then she might have to come clean with her parents because she is running out of ways to stall them until she hears from Columbia. Jessica asks Hope why Jessica always wants what she can't have and never wants what she can have.
In homeroom, Sara is going on and on about her letter from the girl that is her freshmen initiation coordinator at Harrington College. Jessica teases her, asking if she's sure she got into a college and not a sorority after hearing what the letter contains.
