Part 3: Chapter 10 Summary

While being tested for DNA to prove his identity, Az Thompson tells Eli that he is responsible for Lia's death because he told her the truth about her paternity. From there, Az goes to the nursing home to see Spencer Pike. However, Spencer Pike is in so much pain that he would welcome pain, so Az allows him to continue living with that pain. The following day, Az and Ross stand over Cecelia's grave as her body is exhumed. When they move to exhume the baby's body, however, they discover that instead of burying a baby, Spencer Pike buried a beef roast. As they make this determination, roses fall from the sky and make the initials RW. Ross believes they are meant for him and that it is an affirmation of Lia's love for him.
