Part 1: Chapter 1 Summary
The Abenaki Indians are a group of Indians from the East coast who were never classified as a native group of Indians because they would often cross the border into Canada, causing the American government to consider them Canadian Indians. For this reason, the Abenaki often lost their claims to their native lands on the East coast. The Abenaki play a role in this novel because of the relationship between Gray Wolf and Lia Beaumont.
Ross Wakeman is placing a video camera on the roof of the O'Donnell family's summer home in order to video tape possible poltergeist activity in their attic.
