10-12 Summary

While Dr. Darell eats his breakfast, his maid Poli runs excitedly into the room. She tells him Arcadia has disappeared. Dr. Darell asks how she knows and Poli hands him a note. It says Arcadia has gone to Kalgan with her Uncle Homir. She is sorry she did not tell him of her plans, but she hates goodbyes. Surprisingly, Dr. Darell takes the news well and tells Poli he thinks Arcadia is mature enough to take care of herself. Unfortunately, Anthor's view is not so relaxed. He says she could jeopardize the whole mission, and they should call Homir's ship back straight away. Dr. Darell disagrees. He says his daughter is an intelligent girl and would have thought this whole thing through. For example, she did not have to write them a letter, but she did so they do not waste time going...
