Holland

Most of the novel takes place in the country of Holland, which is also known as the Netherlands. Specifically, the novel’s action takes place in Holland’s capital city—Amsterdam—as well as a nearby suburb. Sylvie was raised in Holland form her infancy until age nine, after which she was sent to live with ma and Pa in New York. The Tan family lives in Holland. Sylvie goes to Holland to visit Grandma, and then Sylvie goes missing. Amy then goes to Holland to search fro Sylvie and discovers that Sylvie killed herself.

Tan Residence
