Summary
Chapter Four of "Baptism" is titled “Chubby Bunny.” Author Evans begins this chapter with a description of her fervent attempts to evangelize her fellow students the day after the Columbine High School shooting in 1999. She then contrasts her intensity with the more laid-back, but still deeply felt, perspectives and practices of her youth group leader at the time, Brian Ward. She describes how his casual, friendly attitude engaged even the most resistant and attitudinal young people in the group, to the point where one of them, a rebellious boy named Mike, took the responsibility of being the youth group’s entrant in a church camp game of Chubby Bunny.
