Summary
In the beginning of Part Three, Honorable Scythe Curie wrote in her gleaning journal about how she had never taken an apprentice before. In Chapter 18, Scythe Curie brought Citra to her home, called Falling Water, which had a river running beneath it and a nearby waterfall. Citra fell asleep in her new room. Curie woke Citra up for dinner, a hasenpfeffer stew which Curie had cooked herself. She explained that her hobby was cooking. The next day, Curie brought Citra gleaning with her. She drove an antique Porsche. Curie watched people walking by on a main street and chose to glean a man who looked resigned. She stabbed him with a blade quickly. Citra protested that Curie should have warned the man. Curie screamed at Citra to get on the ground and apologize to her. In private, Curie explained that she had to...
