Kaitlin Malone
Kaitlin Malone is the main character and protagonist in Mary E. Pearson's novel "Scribbler of Dreams". Seventeen years old, Kaitlin is beginning her senior year at Twin Oaks High School. She is an avid writer and very pretty, and her parents are farmers who have lived on land that has belonged to the Malone family for five generations. Kaitlin was attending private Christian school, but her father's imprisonment for the accidental death of Robert Crutchfield has meant that Kaitlin is forced to attend a public high school. The high school is built on land owned by the Crutchfields, a family with which the Malones have been embroiled in a bitter feud for generations. Kaitlin uses her mother's maiden name of "Hampton" to get along. While Kaitlin dreads going to the school, her younger sister Abby, a freshman, is excited.
