Chapter 21 Summary
Kaitlin wonders about Jack's unfinished business, and if Rick is connected to it.
Garner reveals that Kaitlin's mother has landed a big contract, and that the money from it will help out around the farm and get the girls back into private, Christian school. But Kaitlin, in her mind, realizes she wants to stay at Twin Oaks.
Kaitlin goes looking through Rick's part of the office in order to see if she can find out what he was doing with Allison Crutchfield. Rick walks in and Kaitlin asks to borrow a pencil. She then goes onto the computer to type up the essays for the Bookends about political figures worthy of imitating.
