Chapter 9 Summary
Kaitlin and Abby work a roadside vegetable stand for the farm, where they earn spending money. Kaitlin thinks about how lying to Bram, friends, and her mother and father is one thing, but trying to put one over on Abby is something else. Kaitlin calls Bram to get his address, which she discovers is in a very rich neighborhood.
Bram explains to Kaitlin that he feels he can be honest with her, which in turn makes her feel guilty. She then goes to Bram's house.
Chapter 9 Analysis
The fact that Bram believes he can be honest with Kaitlin is fully revealed, causing Kaitlin to suffer even greater guilt. Bram is putting his trust in Kaitlin Hampton, who does not actually exist. The stage is set for a rude awakening when the time comes.
