Summary
Chapter 29
On the porch, Eliza apologizes that her mom is so intense. Miles doesn’t mind. He answers her apology by kissing her. He feels that this moment, this relationship is a dream, that a greater power has sanctioned their union, and they can’t be touched. He feels like he’s in heaven. He thanks God silently and out loud.
Chapter 30
Miles wakes up next to Eliza in her bed. He makes note of how white and pure her room is and her bed. He says that she tastes perfect and clean. They make out some more and have sex. Miles falls asleep and has a dream that he’s back at the beach. He sees Teddy from behind and tries to get his attention but he doesn’t listen and goes into the water. As Miles struggles to reach...
