Summary
Chapter 5
As Miles rides the public bus home from the doctor’s office, he is surrounded by similar sites: a drunk passed out on the bus bench, and the smells of sweat. He watches the drunk man lying on the bench and decides that he probably isn't just a normal drunk or junkie. He most likely is sick, like Miles, schizo. He feels confident that one day he will be that same type of person, aimlessly wandering, riding buses, dressing raggedly with no place to go.
Miles and his mother are both big movie fans. It’s the one thing that they have in common. He wishes that his whole life could be spent lying in bed watching movies. He explained that he likes movies because for a short amount of time, he gets to escape the realities of his life...
