Summary

Chapter 1

Miles is hanging out with his best friends, Preston and Jackie, at Preston’s parents’ opulent home. Preston has the house to himself with the exception of the housekeeper, Olivia. The three teens are in Preston’s bedroom watching old movies. Miles tells the reader that although they are all friends, he feels like a charity case because they let him hang around with them. Although Preston’s family lives in a house that is like an old Gothic castle they became rich as actors on a tv show in the nineties. Miles’ family live in a small three-bedroom home which is just the opposite of Preston’s.

Preston and Jackie are smoking pot; Preston is what Miles calls a big pothead. Miles used to smoke pot also, but hasn’t done that in more than two years. Miles is...
