Summary

In Chapter 6, when the police go to Dr. Dressler's office to give him an update on the progress of their interviews, Dr. Dressler finds out that they suspect that Duane Jr set the fire in the swamp and that Duane Jr has an arson record. When the police leave, he wonders why there is no mention of Duane's police record in his school record. He assumes that Duane's rich grandmother had managed to hide it from the school's admission committee. When he learns that Graham's parents are there to talk to him, he leaves and goes to Mrs. Starch's house to look for her. There he finds a stuffed rat on her front porch with the name of a student who had asked to be removed from her class. Mrs. Starch is not there. He is about to leave when he notices that...
