Chapter Eleven through Chapter Thirteen Summary
In Chapter Eleven, Lester seems to enjoy having someone to talk to on his bus. Mibs and the others are surprised, however, to hear that Lester has several stops throughout Nebraska to make before he heads back to Salina. He doesn't plan to return to Salina until the following day, and the group suddenly realizes how much trouble they are really in. In Bee, Mibs wanders away from the group to escape Lester's tattoos and thinks of her own mother as she was explaining her savvy. She let Mibs know that she was not perfect, but that she simply had a knack for getting things right. She also pointed out that being perfect often meant being lonely, since no one wanted to befriend someone who had no flaws. As she walks to an abandoned house...
