Summary
Chapter 10 shifts focus back to Futaki, the Halicses, the Kráners, and the Schmidts. They awake in the morning in the abandoned manor house, and they begin to argue again. They attempt to decide whether they should return to the village, continue on in their nascent journey, or wait for Irimiás to meet them where they are. They begin to worry that Irimiás will simply leave forever, taking their money with them. However, Irimiás arrives soon. He overhears some of their doubts about him. He berates them, and the seven villagers beg forgiveness. Irimiás forgives them. He shows them a truck he has acquired, which he says will take them to a place where they will have jobs and incomes while Irimiás puts his grander plan for the village into place.
