Summary
In “Exorcism, Or Eating My Twin,” the narrator, Sarah, recalls meeting her “twin” (67) at a fan convention for the TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer held in a Midwestern college town. Sarah was dressed as Faith—Buffy's edgier foil on the show—while her twin was dressed as Giles, the school librarian character. They met in a discussion for writers of fan fiction about the show. The twin mentioned that her writing was about “reclaiming parasitic lesbian relationships” (68). Sarah pauses her narration to explain that she is telling this story in an attempt to “exorcise the ghost of [her] twin, or else eat her” (69).
