Chapter 9 Summary

It's Keiro that picked up Attia on the horse and is now riding away with Attia. Keiro tells Attia that she did well and that Finn would be proud of her. Attia remembers how Finn had once saved her life. They ride for hours and then stop under an archway of ice to rest. Attia tells Keiro how a few odd things happened when she was with Rix and how she thinks it was because of the glove. Attia thinks about the single metal fingernail beneath Keiro's glove that indicates he is not entirely human.

Keiro takes out Sapphique's glove to inspect it. Keiro removes his own glove to try Sapphique's glove on. Attia urges Keiro not to try it on, but Keiro says he's been waiting a lifetime to try it on. Before he can put the glove on, they hear a...
