Segu, Bamana

Segu is the city in Bamana where Anna travels to meet her father for the first time. Though she is convinced that the journey will clarify all of the unresolved conflicts in her life, almost as soon as she arrives Anna feels depleted. She is grateful that Adrian is there to greet her, and that Ken is a familiar face in the unfamiliar environment. However, as she awaits her appointed meeting day with her father, Anna feels less and less settled. She knows that she wants to meet and learn more about Kofi, yet she is still unsure why. Then, when Kofi rejects her, Anna's sense of displacement augments. Ultimately, she decides to extend her stay in Segu per her father's invitation.
