Summary

In the narration in Chapter 28, Rocky recalls Nick suggesting they could try again for another baby after Rocky’s miscarriage. Rocky replied that she didn’t think she could go through it all again. She reflects on the stories of her friends and acquaintances who were unable to have any children. In Chapter 29, in the present day, Rocky reflects on everything Nick has done to support the family during the day which she didn’t notice at the time. In Chapter 30, which is only one paragraph long, Rocky reflects on her difficult mental and emotional state when she decided to have an abortion.
